Dr. Bradley Curtis Johnson recently joined SpineCare Medical Group after completing the prestigious New York University Spine Surgery Fellowship, where he trained in the latest minimally invasive, microsurgical and robotic surgical techniques.
Dr. Johnson utilizes a team based approach, working closely with general practitioners, physical therapists and pain management specialists to diagnose and tailor a treatment plan for each patient. Surgery is reserved for patients who do not improve with non-operative management. If surgery is required, he believes in a “less-is-more” approach, performing fusions only when absolutely necessary. He has a special interest in minimally invasive and motion preservation surgery, including cervical disc replacement, to speed recovery and improve outcomes.
Dr. Johnson completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California where he was Chief Resident, and attended medical school at the same institution, where he served as President of his class. He also received undergraduate degrees from USC in both Political Science and Biological Sciences.
He is a member of the North American Spine Society, AOSpine North America, International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has authored peer-reviewed papers, presented at national and international conferences, and written textbook chapters with a focus on minimally invasive surgery.
As a Monterey Bay native, Dr. Johnson is excited to be back in Northern California with his wife and daughter, a 7th generation Californian!
